Hi there.

Thank you for dropping by this site. I would love to get feedback and thoughts on how you think Indianapolis Songwriters Cafe can help you, or how the site can develop.

I do respond to feedback.

This contact page has just been added because a determined reader, Forrest Burney of Acton, contacted me and told me he had found it difficult to get in touch with me.

Obviously, Forrest is a determined man and finally got through to me. But, it shouldn’t be so difficult, so I have made this page with a straightforward contact form.

By the way, Forrest’s daughter Karilyn is an upcoming singer songwriter, and you can find her at KarilynBurney.com.

Hello,
Some people convey emotions and tell stories through words put to music. Other people create “tone poems” by using only the sound of their instruments to capture and convey emotions and create impressions of reality which can transport the listener in a way that words just can’t seem to do.–This is how I see what I do.
My name is Scott Balsai. I am an acoustic instrumental guitarist with over 40 original compositions recorded upon 3 CDs. Because my compositions are inspired from, and ultimately “reflect”, experiences I’ve had throughout my life, I call what I do “Acoustic Reflections.”
In my performances, I share the stories, or experiences, from which the music comes, and I also explain the “reflections” behind the music that I play. Although besides being an instrumentalist, I also have the added advantage of being able to punctuate my performances with a few renditions of some of my favorite “songs” by some well known singer-song writers, and some not so well known, whose songs have also become part of my life. Past audience response, to both my guitar playing and my singing, leads me to conclude that my performances delight listeners partial to either form of musical expression.

My wife and I will be traveling this spring and summer across the country from our home here in Pocatello, Idaho to visit our family in Indiana and Pennsylvania as well as link together some performances. We would love the opportunity for you to preview my music and consider me for a possible house concert.
My website is http://www.acousticreflections.net.
Let me know if you would like me to send a more detailed “promo” package with a sample CD or two.
Thank you,
Scott Balsai

I found your site while searching for a place I could meet with other songwriters to discuss and learn about the craft. I am looking at the Planet Bluegrass Song School in Colorado but am not sure I want to travel that far. Has this type of thing (song school) ever been discussed in your cirlce and if so what are the chances it might happen in or around Indy?

Thanks!

Garry
